Role OverviewThe Eye Care Advisor creates exceptional value by delivering the Lens Crafters Experience and ensuring every patient receives the highest quality optometric care.
Key Responsibilities- Greets customers promptly, within 30 seconds.
- Answers the telephone within three rings in a friendly manner.
- Explains all required paperwork, tests, products and services.
- Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully; consults with Optician, Managing Doctor or Retail Management as needed.
- Shows patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers.
- Performs work accurately under time pressure and high customer volume.
- Identifies unsatisfied customers and resolves issues quickly.
- Demonstrates knowledge of scheduling procedures and computer operation.
- Manages patient records in an HIPAA‑compliant manner.
- Places contact lens orders, processes shipments and submits invoices.
- Operates the POS system accurately and handles all payment types securely.
- Explains “One Hour” processing and expected delivery times.
- Maintains store appearance and visual displays as per guidelines.
- Ensures a safe working environment for all associates and patients.
- Adapts quickly to promotion changes with appropriate staff communications.
- Provides product knowledge and assists customers in selecting frames and lenses.
- Performs pre‑examination testing, explains measurements and educates patients on contact lens care.
- Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and supports the Optometrist clinically.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills (internal and external).
- Knowledge of current fashion trends.
- Strong communication and listening abilities.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with cash registers, computers and calculators.
- Organizational skills.
- Sales skills and basic math proficiency.
- Knowledge of office and store merchandise.
- Experience in customer service, retail and/or optical settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Pay Range: $18.12 – $26.13 per hour.
