Assistant Accountant

A growing accountancy practice based in Redruth has a requirement for an Assistant Accountant to join their team. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, VAT, Payroll and assist on the preparation of statutory year end accounts and self‑assessment tax returns. The opportunity offers increasing responsibility, technical skill development and support on offer, as you develop within this firm and role.

Based in Redruth, this accountancy practice acts for wide ranging clients across varying industries, acting for OMBs, SMEs and corporate limited company clients, along with smaller sole trader and partnership clients. Study support and career progression prospects are on offer within a well‑established firm of accountants. CCH for accounts/tax, and Xero / Quick Books for bookkeeping.

• Bookkeeping
• VAT
• Payroll
• Assist on the preparation of statutory year‑end accounts
• Assist on self‑assessment tax returns

• AAT qualified, or studying at level 3‑4, or have developed your career entirely through experience only to date.
• Equally you could be pursuing and studying for ACCA or other qualifications.
• Prior experience working within the accountancy practice sector for an accounting firm of any size, with at least two to three years of experience, or considerably more.
• Experience in year‑end accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping, VAT, etc.

£26,000 - £32,000 dependent on background and experience, all to be explored.
