Opportunity

Prospero teaching is looking for an EAL tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 EAL sessions for young people requiring support in learning English as an Additional Language.

We are looking for educators with a passion for transforming the lives of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC), as well as disengaged, at‑risk, and vulnerable learners. Prospero Teaching will provide support via consultants and the Training and Development Team.

We seek EAL tutors who are eager to work with children and young people with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma‑informed manner to raise engagement and improve the outlook of their educational journey.

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding classroom teaching skills and be able to deliver innovative and engaging learning on a 1:1 basis. They will have a passion for helping learners from a range of backgrounds develop their English language skills.

• ESOL qualification e.g., TEFL or CELTA
• Minimum of 1 year of EAL tutoring experience
• Confidence teaching UASC
• Firm but fair approach
• Recent safeguarding training or willingness to undergo Prospero's course

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to process a new application
• Two professional child‑related references
