Job OverviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Therapy Support Worker to join the Integrated Rehabilitation Therapy Team at Camborne Redruth Community Hospital.
As a generic post, you will work across Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The role will primarily be within the inpatient unit on the Community Assessment and Treatment Unit (CATU), with support to the Community Rehabilitation Team as required.
Key responsibilities include assessment, treatment, discharge planning and support to patients, under the guidance of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
Main DutiesThis position is only open to current NHS employees of:
- Cornwall Foundation Trust
- Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
- Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board

Key responsibilities:
- Assessment, treatment and discharge planning of patients within your care.
- Assist in interpretation of information relevant to patient condition and progress.
- Identify problems and patient needs, setting realistic goals.
- Maintain excellent organisational skills and experience of working in older people’s services.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and travel to different locations for hospital discharges.
- Demonstrate excellent MDT working and support colleagues, including OTs, PTs and support workers.
- Participate in CPD and receive regular supervision and appraisal.
- Good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
- English language qualification such as IELTS.
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant area or comparable experience.
- Evidence of recent study such as Anatomy and Physiology, or an Access to Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy course.
- Previous experience as a Therapy Support Worker in a health or similar post.
- Experience working in a therapy‑led approach.
- Managing own caseload in a variety of settings.
- Experience teaching and leading groups.
- Experience supervising junior staff.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of empathy importance in motivating and encouraging patients.
