Successful applicants will be invited to attend a Selection Day at Carew House, Bodmin on 24 July 2026. This will be a morning or afternoon to be confirmed.

Based in the North Kerrier area with the Redruth Community Nursing Team. We cover several GP practices in the Redruth and surrounding area. The role requires close collaboration with GP's, health and social care colleagues, including therapists and voluntary organisations. We seek a caring, motivated and dynamic community nurse who embraces innovative delivery of excellent standards of care and is passionate about community nursing and ongoing professional development.

An understanding of the changing climate of community care delivery is essential. The ability to travel independently in your own car across the West Locality to support other teams and fulfil the post requirements is vital. We work a 2‑shift model covering 8 am‑10 pm, including 9 am‑5 pm and 2 pm‑10 pm shifts with weekend work.

This post is open to newly qualified professionals and students who are due to complete their qualification during this calendar year. Successful applicants may receive a conditional offer subject to completion of training and registration.

Main duties
  • Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, without direct supervision, to patients, carers and relatives within their home environment, aiming to maximise independence and quality of life.
  • Work in partnership with patients and carers to offer support, advice and promote informed choice.
  • Support the Community Nurse Team leader.
  • Work autonomously, providing effective, evidence‑based care in line with competency, training, organisational policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Support all locality teams flexibly, moving to work with the team most in need on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as service provision demands.
Education and Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Adult)
  • Evidence of recent relevant professional development
  • Ability to act as a mentor for student university placements; willingness to obtain or work towards a mentoring qualification and attend updates.
  • Current Professional Registration – NMC
  • Hold a post‑registration diploma or be working towards a degree
Skills and Aptitude
  • IT skills including Word, Excel, email, internet and recording systems
  • Ability to provide skilled, evidence‑based nursing care to a wide range of patients
  • Capability to deal with patients and carers who are under stress
  • Awareness of and adherence to policies including lone worker and manual handling policies
  • Current knowledge of developments in nursing and healthcare in general
