Assistant Bed Management Co‑ordinator Grade Band 4 – Fixed Term 13 months (Contract until 31st July 2027). Salary £28,392 - £31,157 per annum, pro‑rata.

Longreach House, Town Redruth.
Hours:
Full time or Part time – 37.5 hours per week, 8am-6pm, 4 days a week including weekends and bank holidays. Closing date: 08/07/2026 23:59.
The post holder will assist in the bed management of the mental health beds across the inpatient service and maintain efficient administration services and information support to clinical teams within Operational Services.
Main DutiesThe post will manage mental health beds across the inpatient service, acting as an effective communicator, gathering relevant information from various sources, and sharing them as required with internal and external stakeholders.
This role requires prioritising, multitasking, negotiating, building and maintaining relationships with the multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders, both NHS and private sector. The successful applicant will need to be assertive, where required, to ensure that the admission process runs smoothly and prevent delays for the patient.
Post holders are confident and adaptable in their approach to different individuals and situations, using tact, diplomacy and compassion to resolve issues. Working in a busy, complex environment requires building personal resilience.
The post holder may be based at Longreach House or Bodmin Hospital; location will be discussed at interview.
EligibilityOnly current NHS staff of Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, or Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board may apply.
Internal NHS staff interested in a secondment must discuss the post with their line manager and obtain release agreement.
Person Specification- NVQ 3 in care or a comparable Health and Social Care qualification, or an administration qualification (Business Administration).
- Previous experience delivering care to those diagnosed with mental health issues.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Previous secretarial or NHS admin experience.
- NVQ 4 in Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience with the Trust’s computerised information systems (RiO, PAS & C-Cube).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer and IT skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload with supervision.
- Remain calm under pressure.
- Be self‑motivated and able to work alone.
