An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join North Kerrier community therapy teams and the Newquay inpatient therapy team on a 5‑month fixed‑term contract. This role requires a flexible, reliable professional who enjoys working as part of a wider multi‑disciplinary team.
You will work with a complex and varied caseload, covering orthopaedics, MS, MND, Parkinson's, amputees, falls and frailty. You will be fully supported by experienced Band 6 and 7 therapists and nurses, with opportunities for joint work, shadowing specialist services and attending monthly in‑service training.
Main duties- Assess new patients on the inpatient unit and in their homes, including residential and nursing homes.
- Develop and monitor treatment goals and plans.
- Engage community hospitals to facilitate early discharge and continued rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with reablement services such as STEPS.
- Seek admission avoidance strategies.
- Maintain liaison with the wider multi‑disciplinary team to enable patients to reach their goals.
This role is open only to existing NHS employees in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Current staff of the following organisations can apply:

Person specificationEssential
- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registration.
- IELTS score unless the qualification was obtained in English.
- Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team and understanding of team roles.
