Job overviewWe are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Ward Manager to lead a team of skilled professionals within the inpatient unit e Ward is a 15 bedded Functional Older Adult Ward.
This role is not for the faint‑hearted, it will be challenging and pressurised; but ultimately it will be extremely rewarding and has an emphasis on providing a therapeutic environment to support patients in their recovery.
Main duties of the jobAs the Ward Manager you will:
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists and other professionals in a 15-bed older adult functional acute mental health ward.
- Provide operational and clinical leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality care and timely discharges.
- Develop and implement evidence‑based interventions and clinical policies.
- Drive continuous improvement, training, and staff development.
- Liaise with external community services, carers and partners to coordinate care.
- Professional qualification and registration with a relevant professional body.
- Experience working with patients who have complex and challenging needs.
- Experience with patients having physical and mental health comorbidities.
- Clinical management skills and previous service line management experience.
- Knowledge of recovery principles.
- Career conversations and individual development plans for succession planning and talent management.
