Are you a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to develop your specialist skills in stroke rehabilitation?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team at Rosewarne Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SRU), based within Camborne Redruth Community Hospital
. This exciting opportunity is available as either a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist or a Band 5-6 Developmental Post for the right candidate.

Rosewarne SRU is a well-established inpatient rehabilitation unit providing specialist care and rehabilitation for people following stroke. The unit plays a vital role within the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Stroke Pathway
, supporting individuals to maximise their independence and achieve their rehabilitation goals following acute care.

As part of a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programmes, enabling patients and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will work closely with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, medical staff and wider community services to ensure seamless, person-centred care.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of our specialist stroke team, you will undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and deliver highly skilled rehabilitation interventions for patients with a wide range of physical, cognitive, perceptual, visual and communication difficulties following stroke.

You will work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and colleagues across health and social care services to develop rehabilitation plans, facilitate safe and timely discharge, and support patients through their recovery journey. The role includes participation in multidisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, family meetings and best interest discussions, ensuring coordinated care throughout the patient’s rehabilitation pathway.
