This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract established to provide essential Human Resources support and is intended as a Year in Industry (YiNI) opportunity for an undergraduate student.

You will be supporting Watson-Marlow's Central Functions and Strategic Business Development team Working under the guidance of the HR Advisor for Central Functions and SBD, you will assist with a wide range of operational HR, processes, and projects that enable a rapidly growing business.

Key Accountabilities include: HR Administration
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team across a range of HR activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are updated in a timely manner.
  • Manage HR documentation, electronic filing and data management processes.
  • Produce HR reports, presentations and management information as required.
  • Support payroll administration by liaising with Payroll.
  • Processing purchase orders and invoices.
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Support recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communications and onboarding administration.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks and new starter documentation.
  • Assist in delivering a positive onboarding experience for new employees.
Employee Lifecycle Support
  • Prepare HR documentation including contracts, letters and employee correspondence.
  • Support employee changes including promotions, transfers and leavers.
  • Respond to routine employee and manager queries, escalating where appropriate.
Performance, Engagement and Projects
  • Support the administration of performance management activities, including objective setting, talent reviews and annual review cycles.
  • Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and guidance.
HR Systems and Continuous Improvement
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of HR systems, SharePoint/ Intranet sites and HR resources.
  • Assist with HR data analysis and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and ways of working.
Skills/

Experience:
  • A good standard of general education, particularly in English and maths
  • Experience of using MS packages including working knowledge of Excel and Power Point
  • Strong communication

  • Ability to deal with confidential/ sensitive information
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • High learning agility and adaptability; continuous curiosity to learn and develop with a positive mindset
