Redruth 12.71 - 13.50 per hour Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:30pm Friday, 7:30am - 12:30pm Temporary to Permanent
IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a modern, busy, and growing manufacturing organisation for a Trainee Precision Tools Production Inspector.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career within quality inspection and precision engineering. As a Trainee Precision Tools Production Inspector, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training while learning to ensure that manufactured components meet strict engineering and quality standards.
Working alongside experienced inspectors, you will develop skills in technical drawing interpretation, precision measurement techniques, quality control processes, and defect analysis. In addition to on-site training, there may be opportunities for further classroom-based learning and professional development.
Key Duties- Learn to use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and shadow graphs.
- Assist in carrying out dimensional and visual inspections of components and finished products.
- Verify that products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
- Identify defects and report non-conforming products.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Develop the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Learn about tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Accurately record inspection results and measurements.
- Assist with quality documentation, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Maintain inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing defects and improving manufacturing processes.
- Basic technical education or engineering-related qualifications.
- ONC, HNC, NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent vocational qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude and interest in engineering.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and work accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering, production, assembly, or quality environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
