Food Production Opportunities - Fish & Seafood Factory

Location:

Redruth, Cornwall
Pay: £12.71 to £14.76 per hour (depending on role and experience)

We are currently recruiting for a range of opportunities within a busy fish and seafood processing facility in Redruth. Whether you're looking to start in food production or progress into a specialist or leadership role, there are excellent opportunities available across several departments.

Current Vacancies:

Food Production Operatives - £12.71 per hour
Forklift Drivers (Counterbalance) - from £13.11 per hour
Key Operative Machine Operatives - from £13.10 per hour
Line Leaders - from £13.86 per hour Rates can increase following a qualifying period. Established Production Operatives currently earn £12.81 per hour after 26 weeks, with further progression opportunities available in specialist and leadership roles.

Shift Patterns:

Day

Shift: 06:00 - 15:00
Afternoon

Shift: 15:00 - Finish (typically around midnight, depending on workload)
Full-time hours available
Shifts scheduled across the week depending on production requirements
Ongoing work with potential permanent opportunities

Duties May Include:

Receiving and checking fish and shellfish for quality
Filleting fish and scallop cutting (training provided)
Weighing fish to meet portion sizes
Quality control and product inspection
Making and assembling trays and packaging
Packing, labelling and sealing finished products
Palletising products ready for dispatch
Preparing and checking customer orders
Machine operation and production support
Loading and unloading deliveries
Forklift operation (licensed roles only)
Supporting and leading small teams within production departments
Maintaining high hygiene, food safety and health & safety standards

What We're Looking For:

Reliable and hardworking individuals
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Previous food production experience beneficial but not essential
Leadership experience preferred for Line Leader and Key Operative positions
Valid Counterbalance FLT licence required for Forklift Driver roles
