About the role
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with flexible options down to a minimum of 12.
Availability Window:
Monday 14:00–23:00, Tuesday 14:00–23:00, Thursday 08:00–19:30, Friday 09:00–23:00, Saturday 09:00–23:00. We may schedule within these windows and give three weeks' notice.

As the face of Tesco out on the road, you deliver all the way from Lands' End to John O'Groats. You meet and talk to different customers in their homes daily. You are not just a driver but a customer service ambassador, delivering great service with a smile.

You will be responsible for- Ensure the van and trays are clean and organised.
- Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, picking up litter as it is seen.
- Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van as required, checking it for roadworthiness.
- Talk to the customer about changes to their order, including short code items and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
- Take care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explain to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
- Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
- Call the customer before arriving if early.
- Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to make sure our store is the best it can be for customers.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say "Thank you."
- Act quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers and embrace change within my store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a balance that is right for me.
- Share ideas with my Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve our store for customers.
- Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
