Substitute Preschool Teacher 6+ ECE Units

Join Temp Care Childcare Staffing as a Substitute Preschool Teacher. This position serves San Mateo County and requires commuting to multiple cities. All positions are on‑site. Temp Care is a full staffing service for Early Childhood Educators, recruiting and placing teachers and aides in temporary and permanent positions since 1988.

Responsibilities
  • Available for 4‑8 hour shifts on call.
  • Devote a minimum of 2‑5 full days a week to receive day‑to‑day job assignments early in the morning.
  • Travel to assigned sites as needed.
  • Willing to change diapers and perform light lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Accept assignments at different sites with reliability and flexibility.
Qualifications
  • Less than 1 year of experience (for assistant teachers).
  • High school degree.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Good health and willing to undergo health screening (TB, influenza, measles, pertussis).
  • Mandated Reporter Certificate.
  • Clear criminal background check.
  • Basic English skills.
  • GPS and ability to use it.
  • For teachers: minimum 12 core units Early Childhood Education / Development Semester Units, including Child Development, Child, Family, and Community; degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education; CA Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
  • Assistant teachers: minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education units.
