The Materials Technology team in the Technology group at Chemelex is looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success – and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.
What you will experience in this position:Provide technical support to New Product Development and Technical Investigation projects
Perform extrusion, compounding, testing and sample preparation in collaboration with and guidance from materials team members and other functional teams
Assist engineers with resolution of technical issues
Build prototypes
Perform electrical & mechanical tests according to provided test plans
Provide feedback to engineers and development team
Maintain laboratory space to environmental and safety standards
Support/maintain the control, calibration and inspection of test and measurement equipment
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical testing equipment
Identify, implement, and maintain dashboards, test/data‑logging/analysis automation systems for improving efficiency and collaboration
Write SOPs, work instructions, technical reports
Cross train team members
Assist with obtaining agency certification testing
Completion of high school or equivalent technical training
0-3 years of industrial technical experience
Interest and capability to perform electrical/mechanical testing
Hands‑on R&D experience
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while independently conducting tests with minimal supervision
Ability to follow safety, personnel protection protocols; and lead safety related programs
Conduct technical experiments when provided with test plans
Comfortable setting up electrical tests and mechanical tests
Gather and organize test data
Perform basic analysis on data and interpret results to validate its accuracy
Communicate observations and results directly with requestors and in technical report format
Able to handle multiple tasks effectively and prioritize them per business need with limited supervision; proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Handle multiple tasks and prioritize per team requirements
Good to have prior lab‑based hands‑on experience on polymeric materials (compounding, extrusion, and testing)
Working knowledge in polymers/metals/electronics/electrical is desired but not required
Follow and execute 5S methodology in labs and pilot plant areas
