Melita is a Payroll, Benefits and HR outsourcing company serving mid‑sized businesses across the U.S. and internationally. We are seeking an experienced payroll professional for a 6‑month contract engagement with one of our large clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a payroll professional and must have experience processing payroll on the ADP Workforce Now platform.
This is a full‑time contract position with an expected term of 6 months and a possible opportunity for a full‑time permanent position, reporting to the client’s Senior Manager of Payroll.
This position will be hybrid (on‑site in Redwood City 3 days/week, remote 2 days/week).
Job Responsibilities- Processing of full‑cycle weekly payrolls using ADP Workforce Now, including regular, off‑cycle, and special payroll runs
- Review and validate payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax notices, and employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Client Services teams to ensure payroll data aligns with benefits, leaves of absence, and HR changes
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, registers, and audit documents
- Interact with managers and employees as needed to ensure a high‑quality, error‑free payroll experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on payroll processing experience
- Demonstrated experience running payroll in ADP Workforce Now
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws and payroll best practices
- High attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude
- Familiarity with benefits deductions, garnishments, and leave‑related payroll impacts
- Exposure to multi‑state payroll processing
