Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide primarily 1:1 nursing care for students in a school setting.

This position is ideal for an LVN who enjoys working with children and wants to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with medical needs throughout their school day.

As a School-Based LVN, you will work closely with students, school staff, and healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized 1:1 nursing care to students with medical needs throughout the school day.
• Monitor student health, assess medical needs, and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Assist with medication administration, treatments, and medical procedures as prescribed and authorized.
• Support students with specialized healthcare needs, which may include seizure management, diabetes care, G-tube feedings, and other medical interventions.
• Follow individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and physician orders.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate updates to appropriate school personnel.
• Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, parents, and support staff to promote student health and safety.
• Assist students with mobility, personal care, and other health-related needs as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Active California LVN license (required).
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Previous pediatric, school-based, home health, or 1:1 nursing experience preferred.
• Comfortable working independently while providing direct student care.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to complete required background checks and school health clearances.
