About Integrated BioIntegrated Bio () is a physical AI company developing multimodal biological datasets and AI for drug discovery, focusing on aging and age-related diseases. We are risk-takers, and we bet heavily that the future of societal health lies at the intersection of biological discovery, drug design, and AI. Our growing, star-studded team includes accomplished industry veterans and scientists from top universities, including Harvard, Princeton, and UCSB.
Our team has deployed large-scale scientific discovery systems, brought drug candidates to the clinic, and published in Nature, Science, and Cell. We have accomplished all of this with no egos, and we are growing fast.
We are looking for a Scientist or Senior Scientist to build the robotic layer of our closed-loop discovery engine. This is a ground-floor role with a dual mandate: automate our high-throughput experimental workflows so the engine runs faster, and build the embodied data-capture systems (teleoperated manipulation rigs, dexterous hands, and egocentric video pipelines) that turn our laboratory into a source of physical AI training data.
You will be our first dedicated robotics hire, working directly with our founders and our biology, chemistry, and AI teams. You will own hardware end to end: integrating and programming arms, dexterous end effectors, sensors, and lab automation equipment, and making them do real scientific work in a real wet lab. If you want your robots to touch living systems and your data to train the models that move the needle on human aging, we want to hear from you.
Youwill
- Design, integrate, and program robotic manipulation systems (arms, dexterous hands, grippers, sensors) for laboratory tasks
- Build and operate teleoperation and demonstration-capture rigs, including egocentric video and tactile data pipelines for embodied AI training
- Automate high-throughput experimental workflows: plate handling, sample logistics, and instrument integration, in partnership with our sequencing and HTS team
- Develop and maintain the software stack for our robotic systems (ROS2, Python/C++), including simulation assets and digital twins of lab workflows
- Define data formats, QC, and metadata standards with the AI team so every captured episode improves our models
- Own uptime, safety, and documentation for all robotic and automation equipment
- A Ph.D. in robotics, mechanical/electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience integrating and programming real robotic hardware (manipulator arms, end effectors, and sensors) as well as simulation (e.g. Real2
Sim) - Strong software skills in Python and C++, with production experience in ROS2
- Comfort with wiring, mounting, debugging, and making physical systems reliable in a working lab
- The ability to learn and adapt quickly as part of a small team, and willingness to work hard in service of moving the needle on human aging
- Teleoperation and imitation-learning experience (e.g., YAM teleop) and dexterous-hand integration
- Simulation experience with Mu Jo Co or NVIDIA Isaac, including URDF/MJCF asset creation
- Laboratory automation experience (liquid handlers, plate hotels, scheduling software) or prior work in a biology lab
- Experience with egocentric or multi-camera video data pipelines for robot learning
- Interest in the business of biotech, especially therapeutics and drug discovery
- Impact:
You will play a key role in the work that drives our mission to cure age-related diseases. As an early hire, you will help shape the direction of the company, and your efforts will directly advance therapies with the potential to transform healthcare. - People:
You will work alongside a team of top-tier scientists and engineers, and directly with our founders, Dr. Felix Wong and Prof. Max Wilson. Our alumni have co-authored high-impact scientific papers and gone on to highly successful career trajectories. - Flexibility:
We cultivate an environment that is respectful of personal life and less rigid than academia or a large company. Joining us is like joining a family. We don't expect you to hang out with us outside of normal working hours, but it's likely you'll occasionally do so anyway because we're so fun.
This role is located at Redwood LIFE in Redwood City, CA, a modern and stunning life sciences complex in the Bay Area, with time at our vivarium and tissue processing site in San Carlos, CA as needed.
