Job Requirements

The purpose of the Registered Nurse Supervisor is to direct registered nursing services at the Sauk County Health Care Center. The role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Promote or restore residents’ health by monitoring and recording vital signs.
  • Provide physical and psychological support to residents and their families.
  • Promote residents’ independence through a resident‑centered model of care.
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards of practice, measuring health outcomes against residents’ goals, and following state board and regulatory standards.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications by approved routes while monitoring residents’ response.
  • Assist with admission of new residents, determine special nursing needs, and assign tasks to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Accompany physicians on medical rounds and update them regarding residents’ medical conditions.
  • Train, direct, monitor, advise, evaluate, promote, and discipline nursing staff.
  • Document resident information in the Electronic Charting System (ECS) and, when required, in the Minimum Data Set (MDS).
  • Assist in developing resident care plans and ensure adherence by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Supervise emergency preparedness drills and record resident progress or changes in condition on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Prepare accident/incident reports for residents and staff.
  • Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, activities of daily living (ADLs), and respond promptly to call lights.
  • Transcribe physician orders, account for narcotics, resident money, and valuables.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Experience caring for the geriatric population.
