Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Full‑Time/Part‑Time All Shifts Job Description

Positions available are Part Time (minimum 24 hours per week) or Full Time (minimum 40 hours per week).

• Assist with resident hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and changing of linens.
• Assist with meals: pass meals, feed residents, provide dietary supplements and/or between‑meal nourishment.
• Perform treatments as directed by the unit nurse, including the administration of suppositories and catheter care.
• Obtain resident vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation) and report findings or changes to the unit nurse.
• Meet resident needs and requests in a timely manner.
• Assist ambulatory residents and transfer non‑ambulatory and non‑weight bearing residents to therapy; follow nursing recommendations/orders.
• Follow the resident’s plan of care as directed by the resident and the interdisciplinary team.
• Promote resident choice via resident‑centered care.
• Assist in resident dining activities: meal delivery, table clearing, dish washing.
• Direct visitors and manage visitor interactions.
• Engage residents in activities of their choice.
• Record food intake, bowel movements, and other nursing tasks in the electronic medical record.
• Transport residents to and from appointments (dentist, podiatrist, beauty shop) and recreational activities in the neighborhood.
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, and carpet cleaning.
• Answer call lights promptly.
• Mentor and train new Certified Nursing Assistants; facilitate familiarization with facility processes and procedures.
