Senior Project Manager - Laser Technology

You will lead cutting-edge product development projects within our Engineering / R&D organization, focusing on advanced laser-based systems. Working closely with a highly skilled, interdisciplinary team, you will drive projects from concept through development to product realization. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical depth with project leadership, shaping innovative solutions in a dynamic and international environment.

• Lead and deliver complex product development projects and project portfolios within Engineering / R&D
• Take full ownership of project execution, including scope, schedule (WBS), resources, budget, and risk management
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
• Drive cross-functional alignment and decision-making across Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders
• Plan and facilitate project reviews, workshops, and key decision forums
• Support customer interaction by providing regular project status updates, ensuring transparency on progress and timelines, and understanding customer perspectives
• Manage project governance, including planning, reporting, change control, and lessons learned
• Ensure consistent application of project management processes, tools, and standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project execution and organisational processes

• Act as a role model for project management excellence, setting high standards for structure, clarity, and delivery discipline
• Lead through influence and collaboration in a matrix organisation
• Drive accountability and ownership within project teams
• Communicate with clarity and transparency to enable fast and well-informed decisions
• Proactively identify and address risks, conflicts, and organisational barriers
• Foster a solution-oriented and results-driven culture
• Build trust and strong relationships across functions and with stakeholders
• Coach and support team members to strengthen project delivery capabilities

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Strong technical background, ideally in laser technology, photonics, or complex optical instruments
• Solid understanding of product development processes in high-tech environments
• Experience with ISO 13485 / medical device development environments is an advantage
• Proven track record delivering complex technical product development projects
• Experience managing large projects or project portfolios
• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or similar) is an advantage

• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills
• Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to manage complexity and drive structured execution

• English: business fluency (written and spoken)
• German: a plus

Willingness to travel up to 10%, including international travel.
