We are seeking to add a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to our team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to build hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, industry‑specific accounting environment.
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day‑to‑day operations of our accounting department.
Key Abilities
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with dealership management software is an asset
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to thrive within our team focused environment
Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
Perform monthly GL reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, prepare related GL journal entries
Calculate and reconcile sales commissions in accordance with dealership compensation agreements
Complete floorplan payable reconciliations, ensuring accuracy between lender statements and internal records
Process floorplan settlements upon sale or payoff of equipment units
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
Maintain fixed asset schedules and complete related entries, such as monthly depreciation
Respond to internal inquiries related to accounting records and transactions
Liaise with manufacturers, lenders, and vendors regarding inventory related transactions
Complete monthly gross margin analysis by department and product line, identifying variances and reporting findings to management
Ideal candidates will possess the following
Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, OR
Post‑secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) is considered an asset
