Accounting Officer

Responsibilities

Responsible for daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes and procedures, managing within established deadlines.

Prepare journal entries and financial schedules.

Act as a primary resource for other department managers for general accounting and finance inquiries.

Provide coaching, assistance, and contribute to problem solving as needed by the department.

Prepare invoices and coordinate billing with operational departments.

Manage accounts receivable, including following up on outstanding receivables and receiving payments.

Perform accounts payable processes in the absence of the Accounts Payable Clerk, ensuring adherence to signing authorities and payment policies.

Report and remit withheld taxes monthly, and file nonresident tax forms annually.

Calculate revenue for each show held in the Show Lounge, charging to the applicable account.

Verify sales data, prepare invoices or statements as required for events at the casino, and record the appropriate journal entries.

Investigate possible general ledger errors and prepare adjusting journal entries.

Prepare other recurring monthly and annual journal entries.

Create journal entries for poker tournaments and maintain related tracking sheets.

Reconcile payroll benefit and other balance‑sheet accounts monthly, investigate discrepancies, and follow up with the Assistant Controller.

Maintain prepaid, accrual, and other schedules.

Prepare bank deposits and complete jackpot transfers.
