As our operations continue to grow, we are looking for a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent – New Build Construction to join our team in Moose Jaw, SK, starting in Fall 2026.

The Site Superintendent – New Build Construction (NBC) specializes in managing the complete lifecycle of large-scale construction projects, from site preparation through final delivery. This role demands in-depth knowledge of structural systems, building codes, and modern construction methods; ensuring projects are built to specifications, within budget, and on schedule.

In your role you will lead and coordinate teams of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations and resolving on-site challenges efficiently. Your expertise is in overseeing the construction of new facilities, ensuring that every stage, from foundation to final finishes, meets the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive worksite. You will play a critical role in overseeing the execution of multiple projects ranging between $5M - $50M, with durations spanning six months to 2+ years.

Key Responsibilities

Implement Health, Safety, and Environment program in compliance with Alberta OH&S requirements

Conduct daily site inspections and walk-throughs at the start and end of each shift

Maintain communication with the Construction Manager and Project Manager to clarify overlapping duties and ensure coordinated site execution

Supervise and delegate to foremen and subtrades while managing productivity and workflow

Develop, update, and post a detailed Two-Week Lookahead Schedule (4/6/8 week when required)

Participate in the management of the project budget, schedule, and self-performed work productivity

Perform quality control inspections of all work on site and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications

Complete Daily Site Records and submit by end of shift with supporting progress photos

Approve crew timesheets, equipment checklists, and extra work documentation

Maintain clean, organized, and secure work sites consistent with Benchmark Builders Inc.’s standards

Mentor, coach, and evaluate field staff, identifying individuals with promotion potential

Update as-built drawings and ensure documentation accuracy

Use and promote the Procore application for field reporting, inspections, and communication

Lead Daily Huddles / Coordination Meetings

Conduct formal site safety inspection and address any hazards immediately

Host weekly Tool Box Safety meetings

Conduct weekly trade meetings on site with active and upcoming trade partners

Review and update Two-Week Lookahead Schedule with the crew and post on site

Confirm material, labour, and equipment requirements for upcoming work

Submit safety documentation, packing slips, and expense reports to the Project Manager

Ensure required postings are visible on site (Emergency Response Plan, Contacts, OH&S book, Safety Inspection, Permit, etc.)

Incident reporting – In the event of an incident involving injury, property damage, or theft, the Superintendent must complete an incident report and notify the appropriate management personnel according to incident reporting structure and plan.

Your Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on new build construction – both wood frame and concrete

Demonstrated knowledge of all building techniques, building codes, and safety regulations…
