Location: Regina, SK (Onsite)

About the Role:

Global Regina is seeking a talented full-time ENG Photographer/Editor to join our News Department, reporting directly to the Supervising Technical Producer.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a news photographer with a strong understanding of how to shoot and edit daily news stories.

The successful candidate should also have knowledge of control room production and will be responsible for executing weekday newscasts.

This position requires regularly working mornings with flexibility to work weekend and evening shifts when necessary.

You will contribute by:

  • Shoot and edit daily news and sports.
  • Conduct brief interviews when required.
  • Knowledge of photography, lighting and audio.
  • Maintain camera and editing equipment,
  • Responsible for safely operating and maintaining a company vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Technical Production of news programs, including coordinating, receiving, and troubleshooting live & pre-taped hits sent from remote hit sites.
  • Editing packages, voice overs, bumpers, stingers, and other video elements as required.
  • Work with Regina's MMC Control Room to ensure all equipment is in good working order prior to production.
  • Recording and monitoring feeds and locating archival & out-of-market footage.
  • Knowledge of non-linear editing systems.
  • The ability to work well with others in a team setting is critical.
  • Perform key morning-show technical duties that will include record-marking & video exporting.
  • There will be key back filling duties in Regina's MMC Control Room, including regional video exporting for Regina, Saskatoon & Winnipeg markets.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education (or equivalent experience) in broadcast technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Work well under pressure and be able to meet strict daily deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently and in co-operation with news reporters.
  • Knowledge of non-linear editing systems.
  • The ability to work well with others in a team setting is critical.
  • Previous experience working in a control room is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver's license and clear driver's abstract.
  • Availability for weekend and evening shifts may be necessary.
