Library Client Service Associate - Moose Jaw Campus (Part-Time Evening/Weekend 2026-27)
The Library Client Service Associate provides day‑to‑day client‑focused service to library patrons and supports library operations and programs.

Salary:  $20.53 to $24.53 per hour |

Hours:

36 hours (modified) per week:
Monday and Tuesday 5:00–9:00 p.m. and Saturday 1:00–6:00 p.m. (No hours during the Christmas break) |

Start Date:

08/31/2026 |  End Date:  06/25/2027

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome everyone to the library.

Provide proactive client‑focused service by anticipating client needs and ensuring the highest standards of client service are met to create a welcoming environment.

Maintain client relationships by responding to basic library reference help and documenting action.

Proactively prepare for customer inquiries by studying products, services and customer service processes.

Assist clients in signing materials in and out.

Show clients how to use technology throughout the library.

Assist with events and tours under the direction of a supervisor according to established standardized event/program guidelines.

Shelve, sort, and process materials.

Maintain attractive, welcoming, and inviting library spaces (i.e., tidying and cleaning).

Refer students to library resources to meet their needs.

Provide technical assistance with library equipment and technology.

Take payments for library fines and fees.

Assist with tracking and updating library usage data.

Assist with client’s lab/study room bookings.

Handle cash.

Provide basic clerical support.

Qualifications

Minimum six (6) months experience in a customer service environment.

Grade 12 with supplementary training or experience in technology.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Basic Internet skills.

Basic working knowledge of computers and related office equipment.

Effective oral communication skills including basic telephone and customer service experience.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Knowledge of automated system software (client databases, inventory, etc.).

Handling cash and use of a digital cash register.

Ability to work alone.

Attention to detail.
