THE ROLE
Imagine the excitement of coordinating and delivering recreation programs and services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations in a deployed environment for six months! The Recreation Coordinator is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy travel, meaningful employment and contributing in a team‑based environment. You will be coordinating recreation programs and services for the CAF and their partner nations, delivering briefings and guidance on recreation policies, directives and procedures.
Your role includes planning recreational activities, overseeing recreation clubs, scheduling excursions, outings and events, and ensuring participants receive recreational information and safety briefings.
Education, Certifications and Licenses
- Acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- Valid driver’s license (Province).
- Canadian citizenship.
- Valid Canadian passport.
Experience
- Coordinating and planning recreational activities and excursions.
- Coordinating on‑site event and activity execution, including set‑up and tear‑down.
- Managing participant registration and attendance tracking.
- Creating and maintaining event calendars and schedules.
- Providing recreational information to clients.
- Administrative procedures.
- Scheduling, organizing and overseeing activities for program development and delivery.
- Coordinating volunteers and activity staff during events and excursions.
- Conducting safety briefings or orientations.
- Providing travel information to clients, such as tourist attractions, foreign currency, customs, languages and travel safety.
- Applying safety guidelines and risk management practices.

Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment
- Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment.
- Security screening.
- Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull or push heavy items.
- English Essential (Reading, Writing, Oral – Functional)
- Candidates meeting the Bilingual Essential requirement will be considered for all available positions (both English Essential and Bilingual Essential).
- Position type:
Civilian deployment contracts – 6‑month terms. - Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.
- Hours of work:
Maximum 56 hours per week (including weekdays and weekends).
- Tax free allowance: up to $1,756 per month in addition to salary.
- Home leave and travel allowance: possibility of paid leave and travel allowance.
