Position: ANTH 100-002 - Introduction to Anthropology - Fall 2026 - On Campus
Position Details
ANTH 100 - Introduction to Anthropology is a sessional faculty position for Fall 2026. The course explores the anthropological concept of culture, its application to human behavior, and its influence on language, society, and human nature. It teaches students to compare cultural diversity from a unique anthropological perspective and to analyze the connections between politics, economics, gender, kinship, and religion.

Responsibilities

Deliver the course on campus, face‑to‑face, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 – 12:45.

Conduct one office hour per week.

Manage classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina, including UR Courses (Moodle).

Prepare instructional materials and assessments, and grade student work before and after the term as required.

Requirements

MA in Anthropology or a closely related field.

Record of effective teaching at the post‑secondary level.

Experience managing classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina.

Work Hours and Schedule
The instructor will deliver the course on campus face‑to‑face on Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30 – 12:45. Course dates are September 1 – December 31, 2026.

Compensation and Status
Salary and status are determined by the URFA Collective Agreement. Sessional lecturers may have preparatory work before the start date and may have grading tasks after the termination date.
