ENGL 100-002/020 - Critical Reading and Writing I - Fall 2026

Position Summary:

This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing.

Teaching Responsibilities:  Deliver in‑person instruction (MWF 12:30‑13:20) in classroom CL 408. Utilize the University of Regina’s Learning Management System for remote or online components and conduct office hours as required. Timely assessment of student work and compliance with university policies are expected.

Qualification Requirements:  For courses in the Literature Stream, applicants must hold an M.A. or higher degree in English, or an M.F.A. or higher in Creative Writing. Alternative qualifications include:

Sessional Lecturer II:
Master’s degree or four‑year Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 three‑credit hour taught courses.

Sessional Lecturer III:
Ph.D. or equivalent, or Master’s degree with at least 15 three‑credit hour taught courses.

Evidence of successful teaching experience may include student evaluations, syllabi, or letters of evaluation.
