Position: Sessional Lecturer BUS 384 002 (Introduction to Taxation) - Fall 2026
Position Summary
The Hill Levene School of Business at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following in person course during the Fall 2026 semester:
BUS 384 – Introduction to TaxationThis course provides an introduction to the business aspects of taxation from the perspective of the business manager.
The Fall semester class period is from September 1, 2026 to December 7, 2026 with the final exam period running from December 9 to 22, 2026. Maximum enrolment for this course is 48 and a Teacher Assistant may be provided if requested and available. Please note that receiving a TA is not guaranteed and applicants should be prepared to teach without a TA.
Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:
Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades on time;Preparing content for the accounting lab associated with this course; BUS 384 102 – Fridays 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm.Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines;Delivering 26 75-minute lectures throughout the semester (unless otherwise discussed with the Associate Dean);Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment;Providing regular support to students on course work as required before and after each class, during office hours, and as required by students;Meeting all submission deadlines as outlined by the Hill School of Business;Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed; andOther duties as assigned.All faculty members in the Hill Levene School of Business are expected to support our mission: “Through innovative and impactful business education and research, we provide transformative experiential learning, foster equity, diversity, and inclusion, and create local and global impact, preparing our students for meaningful careers and contributions to society.”

Position Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Graduate and/or PhD/doctorate degree in a discipline relevant to the course subject area (note that a bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant professional business experience may also be considered);Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;Superior communication skills (both written and verbal);Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with respect to academic reporting; andRecent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment considered an asset.
