ENGL 100-990 - Critical Reading and Writing I - F2F - Fall 2026.

Position Summary
This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing. The instructor will deliver in‑person instruction (T 1800‑2045) in CL 410 during September – December 2026.

Responsibilities

Teach the course in the prescribed format and schedule.

Develop and maintain effective syllabi and course materials.

Conduct office hours and provide timely assessment of student work.

Adhere to Faculty of Arts’ teaching regulations and policies.

Qualifications

Hold an M.A. or higher degree in English, or an M.F.A. or higher degree in Creative Writing.

Or possess a master’s degree with experience teaching 12 three‑credit courses, or possess a Ph.D. or equivalent with experience teaching 15 three‑credit courses.

Demonstrated teaching effectiveness through student evaluations, syllabi, letters of evaluation, or other evidence.

Eligibility
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and the work must be performed in Canada.
