Impart your ceramics knowledge by teaching the ART 290AR Wheel Throwing course in Regina during Fall 2026. This course focuses on throwing techniques and their applications in contemporary ceramics.
Candidates for this role must have an MFA in Ceramics or a related visual arts discipline, or the equivalent. Strong evidence of a contemporary ceramics practice and a preference for candidates with university teaching experience are crucial for this position. The course will cover both functional and sculptural approaches to using the potters wheel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and teach wheel throwing techniques to students
• Explore the uses of the potters wheel in contemporary practices
• Encourage functional and sculptural creativity
• Provide a supportive educational environment
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
Requirements:
• MFA or equivalent in Ceramics or closely related field
• Significant contemporary ceramics practice
• Proven dissemination in the field of Ceramics
• Prior university teaching experience is advantageous
• BFA/equivalent acceptable for Teaching Fellows
Foster the artistic development of students through innovative wheel throwing instruction.
