Mode of Instruction: Face-to-Face (CL 417), in-person, 19:00–21:45 weekly.
Position Summary
This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing.
Position Requirements
For courses in the Literature Stream:
Applicant must hold an M.A. or higher in English, or an M.F.A. or higher in Creative Writing.
Sessional Lecturer II:
Master’s degree, or a four‑year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 12 three‑credit hour courses taught.
Sessional Lecturer III:
Ph.D. or equivalent, or a Master’s degree with at least 15 three‑credit hour courses taught.
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness (e.g., student evaluations, syllabi, letters of evaluation).
Knowledge of the Faculty of Arts Faculty Policy Handbook, including policies on class cancellations, office hours, and assessment of student work.
For courses with remote components, familiarity with the University of Regina Learning Management System and web‑conferencing applications.
Responsibilities
Deliver all face‑to‑face instruction for the course during the term.
Prepare and deliver lecture materials, assignments, and assessments.
Conduct office hours and provide academic support to students.
Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback.
Adhere to all university policies regarding cancellations, attendance, and health/safety requirements.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and assessment status.
