Position: ENGL 110-005 - Critical Reading and Writing II - F2F - Fall 2026
Position Summary
Course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing.

Responsibilities

Teach the course in person (TR 1300‑1415) during September‑December 2026.

Prepare instructional materials, assessments, and syllabi.

Conduct office hours and provide timely assessment of student work.

Adhere to Faculty of Arts teaching regulations and cancellation procedures.

Qualifications

Hold an M.A. or higher in English, or an M.F.A. or higher in Creative Writing.

For Sessional Lecturer II:
Master’s degree or a four‑year bachelor’s degree or equivalent with teaching experience equivalent to 12 three‑credit hour courses.

For Sessional Lecturer III:
Ph.D. or equivalent, or Master’s degree with teaching experience equivalent to 15 three‑credit hour courses.

Evidence of teaching effectiveness (student evaluations, syllabi, letters of evaluation).

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada; work must be performed within Canada.

Compensation and Term

Faculty Sessional Salary Range as per URFA Collective Agreement.

Term:
September through December 2026 (full‑time/part‑time as specified).
