CHIN 111-001 – Introductory Mandarin Chinese I – Fall 2026 – Face to Face
We are seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach Introductory Mandarin Chinese I at the University of Regina. The course focuses on modern standard Mandarin language and culture, including pronunciation, essential vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing characters, and cross-cultural awareness.
Responsibilities
Deliver face‑to‑face instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m.
Prepare and deliver lecture materials, assignments, and assessments.
Hold one office hour per week to support student learning.
Grade assignments and provide feedback in a timely manner.
Requirements
At least a B.A. in a related discipline.
Native or near‑native fluency in Mandarin and proficiency in English.
Experience and evidence of teaching ability at the university level; candidates with more teaching experience in the area will normally have preference.
Legal entitlement to work in Canada; work must be performed within Canada.
