SPAN 111-991 - Introductory Spanish I - Fall 2026 - Face to Face

Position Overview:

SPAN 111:
Introductory Spanish I focuses on the acquisition of basic skills of pronunciation, reading, writing, and conversation for students with little or no Spanish experience. It includes instruction in basic grammar, syntax, and vocabulary for culturally appropriate interaction.

Responsibilities:

Deliver the course on campus, face-to-face on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM.

Maintain one office hour per week.

Prepare and submit syllabus, lesson plans, and assessment materials within required deadlines.

Grade assignments, exams, and provide timely feedback to students.

Participate in department meetings and professional development activities as required.

Qualifications:

At least a B.A. in a related discipline.

Native or near‑native fluency in Spanish and in English.

Experience and evidence of teaching ability at the university level.

Preference will be given to candidates with more teaching experience in the area.
