CRIM 230-991 - Introduction to Canadian Law – Fall 2026 (On Campus Face-to-Face)

Position Summary:

This sessional instructor will teach the course Introduction to Canadian Law (CRIM 230-991) in fall 2026 at the University of Regina. The course spans 13 weeks from September 1 to December 31, 2026, meeting on Thursdays from 19:00–21:45.
Responsibilities:
Deliver all scheduled lectures on campus and facilitate student discussions.
Prepare and deliver lesson plans, assignments, and course materials.
Hold one office hour per week and provide academic support to students.
Assess student performance, grade assignments, and maintain accurate records.
Utilize the University of Regina’s learning management system (UR Courses – Moodle) for course administration.

Qualifications:

Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Canadian Law, Criminal Law, or an equivalent discipline;
PhD preferred.
Demonstrated record of effective teaching at the post‑secondary level.
Experience managing classroom technology and online platforms, particularly UR Courses/Moodle.
Legally entitled to work in Canada; the work associated with the position must be performed within Canada.
Compensation and

Work Hours:

Faculty group: URFA CUPE 5791.
Pay Grade:
Faculty Sessional;
Salary:
Competitive (range per URFA collective agreement).
