Teach Introductory Mandarin Chinese I at the University of Regina this Fall 2026. Engage students through face-to-face classes and share your passion for the language and culture.
This sessional lecturer role involves teaching modern standard Mandarin, focusing on pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and writing characters. You will deliver in-person lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m., preparing and grading assignments while providing valuable feedback. An office hour each week will be dedicated to supporting students and fostering cross-cultural awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver face-to-face instruction effectively each week
• Prepare lectures, assignments, and assessments
• Hold weekly office hours for student support
• Timely grading and feedback of assignments
Requirements:
• B.A. in a related discipline required
• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin
• Experience teaching at the university level preferred
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada
