Program Head, Continuing Care Assistant Program – Regina

In this role you will provide academic and first‑point‑of‑contact leadership for students, faculty, and staff in the Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) program at Sask Polytech. The position is based in Regina and may require travel to collaborate with faculty and staff at other campuses and to supervise faculty teaching in clinical placement settings.

Responsibilities
  • Academic Leadership and Administration
    • Monitor delivery of quality programming responsive to the needs of students, business/industry, and the public.
    • Champion and facilitate academic activity for the program areas, including curriculum development and delivery, instructional methods and academic standards.
    • Lead and support clear and consistent student‑centred program operations with a focus on excellence in service, safety and program delivery.
    • Monitor the quality of academic offerings by implementing sound academic policies and procedures and preparing reports for Program Advisory Committees.
    • Participate in program accreditation and review involving internal and external stakeholders.
    • Identify and develop proposals for Integrated Development Fund projects.
    • Recommend opportunities for applied research projects or other learning and research opportunities.
    • Provide content expertise to Continuing Education Consultants/Education Consultants regarding brokerage and outreach programmes.
    • Represent the program on School committees as assigned by the Academic Chair.
    • Monitor adherence to policy regarding intellectual property.
  • Student Affairs
    • Lead the daily operations of program activities related to student matters.
    • Participate in student recruitment initiatives and enrolment and orientation strategies.
    • Support strategies to ensure full intakes of students, monitor attrition, and implement student success measures.
    • Champion and model diversity and inclusiveness for all learners and staff.
    • Identify and support student development and services, acting as a liaison when needed.
    • Act as a first point of contact for student complaints and academic advising.
    • Carry out transfer of credit and prior learning assessment reviews as assigned.
  • Program Leadership
    • Promote teamwork and good communication while leading staff and faculty.
    • Foster an organisational environment that encourages personal productivity, job satisfaction and professional growth.
    • Foster a culture of organisational safety and security.
    • Participate in employment activities: selection, orientation, training, workload assignment and scheduling.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting any issues.
  • Relationship Management
    • Represent the School on internal committees and teams as assigned by the Academic Chair.
    • Build and maintain relationships across academic and administrative divisions and with students.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, educational and government organisations, and other partners.
    • Represent the School and Sask Polytech at relevant business, industry, community and sector functions.
  • Resource Allocation
    • Manage program resources to ensure delivery effectiveness and contribute to the Multi‑Year Business Plan.
    • Contribute to preliminary aspects of the budget development process by submitting requests for initial operating and capital requirements.
    • Monitor expenditures and ensure they remain within the assigned budget.
    • Implement and coordinate innovative solutions to resource challenges.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for external partnerships.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Contribute the program perspective to strategic planning and implement changes in alignment with strategic initiatives.
