Educational Assistant Instructor - Casual

Classification: Instructor (Casual)
Start Date:
July 1, 2026 – End Date: June 30, 2027
Hours of Work: To be assigned
Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver lessons, lectures, and demonstrations for educational purposes to students and/or staff as may be required.
Evaluate and record student progress with the use of assessments, assignments, and observations in accordance with program and institute guidelines.
Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies in support of a blended learning experience.
Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment and feedback to students on the required learning platform (Bright Space).
Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs such as adult learning principles.
Maintain and update curriculum materials.
Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Engage in professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in practical work experience.
Attend program and school meetings.
Required Qualifications , Skills, Abilities and Experience (QSA)
Bachelor of Education including classes dealing with the exceptional child or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Two years recent and relevant experience working with children in an educational setting.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
Effective instructional ability.
Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
Demonstrates valuing diversity.
