Dynamic Early Childhood Educator Role

Join Dusk’a Head Start Family Learning Centre as a dynamic Early Childhood Educator on an on-call basis, working with children from 18 months to 5 years. Make a meaningful impact through engaging early learning programs that emphasize First Nations cultural perspectives.

We invite applications from passionate individuals with Level 1 to 3 Early Childhood Education designations. As an educator, you'll participate in holistic programming that includes family involvement and support for individual child needs. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are critical in this role, particularly in culturally diverse settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead age-specific educational activities

• Engage families in the child development process

• Promote a culturally respectful and supportive learning atmosphere

• Assess and document children’s learning progress

• Coordinate with other educators to enhance program offerings

Requirements:

• Level 1 to 3 Early Childhood Education certification

• Practical experience with young children in a child care setting

• Knowledge of Yukon First Nations and their culture

• Valid First Aid & CPR-C certification

• Background check with vulnerable sector review
