Teaching Assistant/Marker - INSW 411 - Indigenous Social Work with Victims of Abuse

Description:

Theories of abuse, power and control, and victimization are examined with a particular focus on the historical abuses imposed on the First Nations of Canada. Legislative protections are reviewed. Understanding the process of healing from abuse is a primary objective emphasizing traditional approaches to balance and harmony.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education is required.

Superior communication skills (written and verbal).

Excellent Organizational Skills.

Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and compliance with reporting requirements.

Access to internet and able to navigate online educational software.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to students working on assignments.

Provide support to students in preparation for midterms and final exams.

Consult and work with the instructor on academic or student related matters and undertake other duties as assigned.

Arrange community activities.

Set up videoconferencing equipment when required.

Invigilate students during exams and other course work.

Maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.
