We acknowledge that within higher education in Canada, traditional or conventional academic and artistic pathways can reinforce biases in the filling of faculty and instructor positions. We encourage applications from those who may not fit all the qualifications and that challenge our ideas of teaching and artistic practice. We are particularly interested in colleagues who bring experience in facilitating equity, diversity and inclusion practices within their teaching, which may include contexts outside of the academic domain, including artistic praxis and community-based work.
Creative Technologies and Design seeks to attract candidates who identify with under‑represented groups, and who are able to articulate a teaching philosophy that aligns with our values and complements and builds upon the established socially‑engaged practices for which the Department is known. We seek a candidate whose expertise will enhance the University of Regina’s growing reputation as an important centre for a variety of teaching and research endeavours, including Indigenous art practices, disability/atypical creative practices, community wellness, social justice, community engaged creative practices, media arts, curation, exhibition and/or performance practices.
