Job descriptionYouth Program Staff support a variety of YMCA Programs designed to build skills, confidence and connection for children and youth of all abilities. Program areas may include Child Minding, sports, sciences, arts and camps.
Role & Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate and deliver fun, inclusive and developmentally appropriate activities that promote personal growth, social skills, recreation and healthy living.
- Create a safe, supportive and engaging program environment through effective supervision, coaching and mentorship.
- Build positive relationship with participants and families, modeling YMCA values in all interactions.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve program goals and ensure smooth program operations.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and problem‑solving skills to manage daily tasks and program needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe program space by completing required housekeeping and sanitization duties.
- Strong organizational skills and creativity in program planning.
- Proven leadership abilities including managing groups of varying ages and abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C;
- A Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search within 3 months prior to start date.
