About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean to provide overall academic, administrative, financial, and strategic leadership for its Faculty of Arts. The Dean will advance academic priorities through collaborative governance, oversee program quality and curriculum development, and foster excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and creative activity. Responsibilities include leading faculty and staff, managing budgets and resources, supporting student recruitment and success, and upholding academic freedom and institutional accountability.

The Dean will also build partnerships with Indigenous communities and other external stakeholders, champion equity and inclusion, and represent the Faculty’s priorities in institutional planning and public engagement.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline and have a distinguished scholarly record commensurate with Full Professor rank, alongside significant academic leadership experience in complex higher education settings. They should demonstrate strength in strategic planning, multidisciplinary leadership, financial stewardship, and the recruitment and development of faculty and staff. The role calls for a strong commitment to student success, Truth and Reconciliation, Indigenous engagement, equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and community-engaged scholarship.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and experience working within collegial and unionized environments are also required.
