Electrical Engineering Technologist

Job Overview

Electrical Engineering Technologist at Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc., Regina – responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, programming, configuring, and troubleshooting electrical machinery, controls, industrial automation and data acquisition systems.

• Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and instructions for scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work.
• Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings, and install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service electronic devices and systems.
• Plan work procedures, determine material or replacement needs, and troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Prepare sketches of parts and layouts, design and construct adaptations or conversions of component parts.
• Complete mechanical and electrical repairs in connection with servicing electronic equipment.
• Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment for safe and proper operation.
• Plan and perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, wiring specification codes, materials, and operation of equipment.
• Fabricate parts using machine and hand tools common to the trade.

• Understanding of Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures.
• Diploma from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology Program;
  Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Electrical Engineering Technology role.
• Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of OH&S regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
