Funeral Services Assistant

Job Responsibilities
- Prepare services including delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other keepsakes.
- Ensure proper care and storage of these items.
- Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance as directed by management.
- Assist respectful preparation of remains, such as dressing, lifting, and operating crematory equipment within legal and company guidelines.
- Perform office duties: answer phones, operate fax machine, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter and scale, and stereo/video system.
- Run errands: floral delivery, supply pickup, document collection, etc.
- Serve as an usher, park cars, and meet transportation requirements.
- Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
- Ensure refreshments are available when allowed by law.
- Assist with visitations, memorials, and funeral services including chapel setup, dressing and casketing remains, delivering family items and flowers.
- Greet and receive client families and other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
- Accommodate family needs during services and/or visitations.
- Wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required.
- Experience:
previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred. - Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

$17‑19 per hour. Medical, dental, insurance, RRSP matching, profit sharing and more.
