Financial Analyst (Student Services)!
Under the direction of the Director, Executive Reporting Services, this position ensures the accounts receivable team delivers exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external parties by accurately, promptly, and courteously handling the collection, application, deposit, adjustment, and refund of funds.
What You’ll Do:
Coordinate the student accounts receivable area including:Supervise, train, and evaluate accounts receivable staff while coordinating invoicing, collection, receipt, and adjustment of student tuition and fees.Oversee daily cash balancing, assess late payment fees, and manage collections for overdue accounts.Work with students to establish payment arrangements and process bankruptcies, scholarships, and tax forms.Test system upgrades affecting student accounts and assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.Coordinate the external accounts receivable area including:Supervise the external accounts receivable clerk, supporting vendor and on-campus staff interactions, and overseeing delinquent account management and write-offs.Prepare and monitor aged accounts receivable reports, assist with vendor statements, and maintain the external invoicing system.Approve cash receipts and student adjustments, create and test system codes, and maintain financial security protocols.Represent Financial Services on committees, act as a signing officer for cheques, and provide resource support to all university departments.Assist in preparing working papers for financial statements.Plus More: Be ready to take on additional related tasks as assigned – your role is dynamic and essential to our success!

Position Requirements What You’ll Bring to this Position:Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or CommerceFive years of experience in related duties;Successful completion of a CPA designation (Consideration may be given to candidates nearing completion of the CPA program/currently eligible to write the exam);Equivalent education, training and experience may be consideredSkills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role:Experience supervising, staffing, evaluating, mentoring, training, and scheduling work assignments with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain a positive team environment;Experience in financial reporting procedures and processes to ensure appropriate financial control and accountability of funds in a not-for-profit, fund-accounting organization;Strong written and verbal communication skills;An excellent understanding of the functions and capabilities of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; and complex databases;Strong attention to detail and accuracy;Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with staff and the public while exercising a considerable degree of tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters;Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines;Ability to research changes to policies regarding taxes, immigration, etc. and apply those changes to policies and procedures;Organized, resourceful, self-motivated, professional.
