The Sr Manager, Term Insurance Pricing is instrumental in the development, pricing, and product support of a variety of Individual Insurance products and will work closely with the Sr Manager, Perm Insurance Pricing and team. This work directly impacts the financial position of the company. Most product features and rates are set at time of issue and guaranteed for the duration of the policy;

products must be carefully managed. This position also deals directly with distribution in support of these products.
How you will create impact:
Manages performance through the Elevate program, including the planning, assessing, and review phases and ensuring understanding of job and performance expectations, taking steps to remove barriers to success, facilitating empowerment, encouraging accountability, and providing appropriate rewards and recognition.
Participates in planning activities such as providing input into strategic plans, developing unit plans, identifying priorities and scope of activities for unit operations, designing/modifying work structures to meet business needs, and researching and planning high-level operational efficiencies.
Ensures appropriate policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are in place for area of responsibility, and monitors compliance with corporate policies.
Resolves escalated issues and makes informed decisions, providing guidance to others to enable them to handle in future
Exchanges relevant information with internal and external clients, presenting ideas, fostering positive client relationships and negotiating settlement of issues/complaints as well as acting as unit spokesperson in meetings
Develop pricing assumptions to be used in the pricing model including expenses, lapses, mortality, interest, and sales mix.
Pricing and determination of profit expectations of term, critical illness, disability insurance, direct mail products and other benefits.
Monitor industry trends and benchmarks to stay current with the marketplace and understand the competitive environment through research and competitive comparisons.
To join our team:
You have completion of the Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) designation.
You have at least 7 years of related progressive experience in this or a similar role.
You are proficient with AXIS software and MS Office.
You have general management skills including planning, budgeting, scheduling, people management, service delivery.
You have Investment knowledge.
