As a Conservation and Fishery Officer, you will conduct patrols via various means to enforce provincial and federal laws regarding fish and wildlife. Your responsibilities also include investigating violations, preparing evidence for court, and supervising wildlife damage prevention techniques. This position requires a responsible individual focused on resource protection and public education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate public awareness of conservation laws
• Conduct patrols by truck, boat, or aircraft
• Investigate complaints and prepare court briefs
• Issue permits and collect royalties on resources
• Supervise wildlife damage prevention initiatives
Requirements:
• Completion of a college program in environmental conservation
• On-the-job training in law enforcement required
• Class-5 driver's licence may be necessary
• 1 to 2 years of experience preferred
• Opportunities for progression to senior roles
